Аннотация: The book presents basic data in immunology and inflammation. The first chapter contains fundamentals of the subject and concise history of its development. The second chapter is dedicated to principles of organization of inflammatory and immune response and their basic effectors and regulators: antibodies, cytokines, complement and adhesive molecules. Special attention is given to the principles of lymphocyte cloning and antigen recognition. In the third chapter infectious and non-infectious inductors and targets of inflammation and immunity as well as the antigen perception at the induction stage (immunogenesis) are presented. The fourth chapter is devoted to the description of the inflammation and immunology phenomena. Special articles are concerned with the development of the defensive (i.e. homeostasis) and pathologic reactions. Materials related to combination of these processes with organ transplantation and trauma are discussed. Programmed cell death (apoptosis) is characterized. The last, the fifth chapter is about practical application of immune reactions — immunochemistry and vaccination.
